Hello everyone!
I’m sorry, I was… well, I’m still… pretty busy these days, with all the stuffs at home that have to be finished (thankfully, our home improvement project is… still a project hahaha) and hopefully my brother-in-law could finish it this weekend. He would finish the living room ceiling, the electricity connections, console table and the cabinets. I asked him to make a console table out of the old bulky cabinet that we are using which we put in the kitchen since my mom’s funeral.
I asked dad if we could have a console table at home where we can put our picture frames that we used to hang on the wall. A little background: We vacate the living room and transfer the things including the furniture and put some of it in our storage room (used to be my brother’s room), some in the hallway and some in the kitchen, to make room for my mom’s wake. I realized that we got a lot of stuffs (well, should I say trash?! lol) to let go before the year ends. It has been my annual routine before the year ends.
My peg
Anyway, so much for that…
I want to share the places I would like to visit if I won in the lottery (the problem is I don’t buy tickets hahaha).
First on my list is:
AUSTRIA
I’m sure you have an idea why I like to visit this country. My family (mom, dad, my brothers and I) are a big fan of the musical movie “The Sound of Music”. Here are the beautiful places to visit there.
The Mirabell Palace and Garden
It is like this these days. (ctto)
The horses are still alive… isn’t? lol
The Von Trapp Family Singers
I am 16 going on 17
I know that I’m naive
Fellows I meet may tell me I’m sweet
And willingly I believe…
The Gazebo
And of course… The Mansion
Our second stop is
The Sin city LAS VEGAS!
I don’t really know why I like this place, maybe because Michael Jackson once resided in one of the luxurious hotels here. According to the article I read online and what I have watched in the documentary LIVING WITH MICHAEL JACKSON, he stayed in Four Seasons Hotel. Anyway, I couldn’t find the right picture and I wasn’t sure if I was really looking at the right one.
I’m not rich (according to my friend who is living in the US, it’s expensive to have a vacation there) but I’d love to see the beautiful lights at night in the fabulous LAS VEGAS, NEVADA.
The third stop would be…
VATICAN, ROME
I’m Catholic and to be in this place would be such an awesome experience. I would like to see St. Peter’s Basilica which is very famous when there is a new Pope or when there would be an eventful gathering.
St. Peter’s Basilica
The Sistine Chapel
From Wikipedia:
The Sistine Chapel (/ˌsɪstiːn ˈtʃæpəl/; Latin: Sacellum Sixtinum; Italian: Cappella Sistina [kapˈpɛlla siˈstiːna]) is a chapel in the Apostolic Palace, the official residence of the Pope, in Vatican City. Originally known as the Cappella Magna, the chapel takes its name from Pope Sixtus IV, who restored it between 1477 and 1480. Since that time, the chapel has served as a place of both religious and functionary papal activity. Today it is the site of the Papal conclave, the process by which a new pope is selected. The fame of the Sistine Chapel lies mainly in the frescos that decorate the interior, and most particularly the Sistine Chapel ceiling and The Last Judgment by Michelangelo.
The fourth would be:
JERUSALEM
I love to see the places which were mentioned in the Bible.
Mt. Zion
Mount Zion is located on the south-west side of the old city, outside of the present walls. In Greek and Roman times this was part of the walled city, the place of the Jesus last supper and the home of the high priest high priest Caiaphas. (source)
Psalms 48:2: “Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King”.
Basilica of Agony
A Catholic Franciscan church, built in 1924, and one of the most magnificent churches with a large mosaic picture on the front. This place, Gethsemane, was the site where Jesus and his disciples hid from the Romans, had his last prayer, but was betrayed and arrested.(source)
Mark 14: 32: “And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray”.
Mary’s Tomb
A church at the traditional place of the tomb of the virgin Mary. The church is cut into the rock and has a form of a cross, with a wide staircase leading down into the church and tomb. The structure is mostly from the Crusaders period. (source)
I’m a Legionary so, this place is very interesting for me.
Church of the Holy Sepulchre
One of the most holiest churches, located in Jerusalem at the traditional site of Golgotha – the place of Jesus Crucifixion and burial. (source)
Matthew 27: 33, 60: “And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha….And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed”
Via Dolorosa
Via Dolorosa (“Way of Grief” in Latin) is a road in the old city of Jerusalem, a path where Jesus was lead in agony, carrying the crucifixion cross. There are a total of 14 stations along this path. (source)
Luke 23, 26: “And as they led him away…”
Chapel of Ascension
An octagon chapel on Mt Olives, built over ancient structures. According to tradition, this sacred site is where Jesus ascended to heaven 40 days after resurrection. (source)
Luke 24 51: “And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven”.
Wehhh… tired? hahaha… jetlog? lol
Well, there are a lot more. However, you can find some of the interesting places to visit in Jerusalem.
